Shopping and Markets
The diversity of East London brings with it a wide range of shopping experiences. If markets are your thing, then you've come to the right place. Hunt for antiques at Greenwich market, look for Asian fashions in Green Street and taste the delights of Spitalfields or Borough Market . In contrast to this, Canary Wharf has become one of the most cosmopolitan areas of London with over 140 shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. All are excellent places to shop!

Walking and Cycling
There are a large number of open spaces in the area with over 40 miles of signposted routes. Spend time strolling along the Thames or the many canals and waterways. Or maybe you'd rather go on a guided walking tour to discover the streets where Jack the Ripper once stalked his prey, or infamous gangsters such as the Kray twins once ruled.

Pubs and Restaurants
Britain is renowned for its pubs and restaurants and East London is no exception. Pubs line the waterside, where once upon a time infamous pirates and smugglers would have drank. You can also explore the more contemporary bars and restaurants at Canary Wharf.  Nearby Brick Lane offers among the best Indian cuisine in London.

Sporting Events
Sporting events are plentiful in East London. Whether you like to participate or just spectate, you won't be disappointed. You can spend time at Royal Victoria Dock on the boats, or watch the speedboats racing up the Thames in the Grand Prix. The Crowne Plaza London-Docklands is the official sponsor, so who knows, you might even get a chance to share a drink in the hotel bar with one of the drivers.

Why not come to see or even take part in the famous London Marathon, which goes through the East End. Even London's Triathlon starts and finishes at ExCeL. And we mustn't forget East London's famous football clubs including West Ham and Millwall .

East London hosts some of the city's most famous attractions. Discover the famous Tower of London , or take in the views from the Tower Bridge Experience.
